THE UNITY FOUNDATION – WE CREATE A SPACE FOR MEETINGS AND DIALOGUE IN KRAKOW
The Unity Foundation (Krakow), together with its partners: the AWR Wszyscy Swoi Association (Kielce), the LOŻA 3 Association (Kielce), the Ukraine Foundation (Wrocław), and the Sfera Jedności Foundation (Wrocław), has received a grant from the Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund program – European Funds for Migration, Borders, and Security 2021–2027 for project no. FAMI.02.01-IZ.00-0034/25 “Openness to others as the basis for a peaceful future: International Youth Development Centers in Kielce, Wrocław, and Kraków.”
We are implementing this project in order to integrate young people with migration experience with their Polish peers, strengthen their presence in local communities, and shape attitudes of openness and mutual respect.
Our role in the project is to create a space for meeting, dialogue, and development in Krakow. As a foundation, we are responsible for implementing a number of substantive activities, including:
— integration and anti-discrimination workshops in schools,
— youth conferences in Krakow and preparatory workshops,
— training for partners in the organization of youth conferences,
— festivals and theater workshops for young people.
The project is aimed at young people aged 10–25, as well as intercultural assistants.
We believe that joint activities will help build openness, mutual respect, social skills, and a safe space for development.

The project is co-created by 11 people. As part of the preparations, we have started implementing four key areas of activity:
– preparations for an international theater festival with the participation of young people,
– organization of a large youth conference “I am in the world. How can I influence the world,”
– training for project partners in the organization of youth conferences,
– activities supporting the integration of children and young people with migration experience into Polish society.

We are launching a theater project!
We are happy to announce that our theater group has begun work on a play as part of the FAMI project!
In collaboration with professional actress and director Maria Soroka, the young people are working on texts by William Shakespeare, using monologues and dialogues. Although the specific choice of play is still ahead of us, we have already begun to intensively explore the texts and develop them to create something unique.
These activities are part of the project “Openness to others as the basis for a peaceful future: International Youth Development Centers in Kielce, Wrocław, and Kraków,” implemented with the support of the Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund under the European Funds for Migration, Borders, and Security 2021–2027.
